Dr. Chambers is an oral oncologist and clinical research investigator with a focus on developing novel therapeutic approaches to the oral sequelae of cancer therapy. He is the Chairman of the Section of Oral Oncology, Department of Head and Neck Surgery (HNS), at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Chambers is a Professor and Vice Chair of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs (HNS), IRB Chairman, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Radiation Oncology. In addition, Dr. Chambers serves as Immediate Past President of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics.

Professor Rafi Nagler is an Attending Surgeon in the Oral and Maxillofacial Department at Rambam Health Care Campus. Prof. Nagler earned his DMD from the Hebrew University, Hadassah Ein-Kerem, Jerusalem, Israel, and in the same year completed an MSc degree in Inorganic chemistry. He went on to earn a PhD in Biochemistry in 1996, while completing his residency in that same year, going on to serve as chairman of the professional committee of the Scientific Council for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 2002 he received an MD degree from the Technion’s Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, and also earned a Master’s in Health Administration from Tel Aviv University.

Prof. Thongprasom obtained her dental degree at the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand in 1977. She completed MSc. in Oral Medicine at the University College of London, Eastman Dental Institute, UK in 1988. She achieved the highest level Professorship in Oral Medicine in 2011. She was also the founder of the Oral Diseases Group of Thailand. Currently, she is a director of the Research Unit in Oral Diseases and her research has focused on oral potentially malignant disorders. She is a member in the editorial boards of many international dentistry journals and has published over 66 peer-reviewed papers.

Prof. Rui Amaral Mendes attained his DMD degree from the University of Porto. He proceeded with his studies at the VU Universiteit Amsterdam where he defended his doctoral thesis under the supervision of his mentor, Prof. Isaac van der Waal. As Professor of Oral Medicine, Oral Oncology and Oral Surgery of the Catholic University of Portugal he was appointed Clinical Director of the University Dental Clinic in 2011. In 2012 he was further appointed Chair of the DMD Program and Chair of the Post-Graduation Course in Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine and Pathology of the Catholic University of Portugal. He left all these position in August 2015 and became solely affiliated with Case Western Reserve University. He also held a position of Visiting Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Michigan until 2014. Fellow of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and of the International Academy of Oral Oncology, he was actively involved in the V World Workshop on Oral Medicine, as member of the “Genetics/epigenetics of oral mucosal premalignancy” work group and is also member of the Research Interest Group "Head & Neck Oncology” of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Jan Akervall, MD, PhD, did residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and a subsequent PhD in Cancer Biology at Lund University, Sweden. He did a two year fellowship in Head and Neck Oncologic surgery and micro-vascular reconstruction at University of Michigan. Dr Akervall has served as division chief for Head and Neck Oncology, Lund University Hospital, and currently as Director for the Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Clinic at Beaumont Hospital. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and is Professor in Otolaryngology at Dept. of Surgery, OUWB School of Medicine. He currently serves as the President for Michigan Otolaryngological Society. Dr Akervall has a long experience in Biobanking and translational research and started the Beaumont Biobank together with George Wilson, PhD, in 2007. He initiated the idea of a The Great Lakes Biorepository Research Network, and is a member of the network’s founding committee. Professor Dr. Edgar Selzer is a certified Radiation Oncologist and now serving as the Head of the Institute of Radiation Oncology at the Hospital LK Wiener Neustadt in Lower Austria. Before his current position, he served at the Medical University of Vienna at the Department of Radiation Oncology where he led for almost 15 years the Head and Neck Tumor Group. Besides his clinical duties, he was (since 2006) head of the Department of Radiation Biology, which is localized at the same institution. He is a Professor for Clinical end Experimental Oncology with more than 10 years experience in practical laboratory work mainly in the fields of molecular biology (activating mutations in G-proteins) and altered signal transduction in cancer cells. Before entering the clinic, he worked as a university assistant at the Department of Pharmacology in Vienna as well as a laboratory assistant at the Institute of Biochemistry at the University Vienna. He has been consultant and scientific advisor for several major pharmaceutical companies as well as for non-profit organizations, such as the IAEA.

Álvaro Rocha is Professor of Information Systems at University of Coimbra and an invited Professor at University of Santiago de Compostela and at University of Vigo. He is President of AISTI (Iberian Association for Information Systems and Technologies), President of the IEEE Portugal Section Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society Chapter, and Vice-President of ADI-PME (Association for the Development and Innovation in the Small and Medium Enterprises). He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Software Engineering journal and the Editor-in-Chief of the RISTI (Iberian Journal of Information Systems and Technologies).

Dr. Richard Kremer is currently Professor and Director of the Bone and Mineral Unit in the Department of Medicine of McGill University. He is also the co-leader of the Musculoskeletal Axis of the McGill University Health Centre. Born in Paris, Dr Kremer received his MD (1977) and Ph.D. (1979) degrees at the Pierre et Marie Curie University of Paris, and completed his internal medicine and endocrinology residency at La Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris. He then moved to Canada and completed his residency training at the Montreal General Hospital, Royal Victoria and Ottawa Civic Hospitals. He pursued his research training at the Royal Victoria Hospital and joined the Division of Endocrinology as a full-time physician-scientist in 1989.
